Event Name: Cultural Response – Thailand and Philippines Cultural Exchange
Event Objectives:
– Learn about the distinctive foods, music, and games of Thailand and the Philippines, and understand the uniqueness of different cultures.
– Learn simple greetings in Thai or Filipino.
– Foster respect and curiosity for diverse cultures.
Event Overview: Parents introduce hometown foods and local greetings, followed by children practicing the greetings and making dishes (fried banana rolls and rice paper rolls). Parents then lead the children in singing hometown songs, performing traditional dances, and playing games.
Received Grant for Support to NCS Students; appoint additional teaching staff / teaching assistants to support NCS students learning Chinese; engage NCS parent volunteers to enhance communication between school and parents; create an enriched language environment for mastery of the Chinese language; create an inclusive learning environment to facilitate students’ integration; facilitate professional development for teachers to develop effective strategies to help NCS students learn Chinese; participate in school-based professional support programmes organised by EDB
